Rusty, Thanks I received both kits this week.
I build a lot of kits and yours are the best that I have seen so far.
If anymore ever come up for sale again please let me know.
Is there a chance of buying the plans for your Mavrick Bipe.
Thanks again Warren Baker

The PDF plans for the Mavrick Bipe will be available soon.

Hello guys,

I recently ordered and received both the Maverick Mk 2 and Biplane kits.  I was not overly impressed with the knife work on the foam on the Maverick Mk 2.  The wing and elevator were not symmetrical.  I actually cut a new wing and elevator from foam stock.  I then assembled the plane and installed a scorpion 2208-34 motor, 10x4.7SF prop, four TowerPro SG-90 servos, a Castle Creations 25A ESC and am using G-Force 1300mah batteries.  I balanced the plane as per instructions, 1/4" behind the carbon spar.  I installed nylon from long tie wraps along the bottom of the fuselage to limit damage during landings.  I was concerned with the strength of the elevator without any form of joiner but it appears to work well.  A quick glance at the bipe kit and it looks to have a better job at cutting the foam.

As for flying, I am very pleased.  I am not a 3D pilot so my experience is restricted to basic pattern flying however this plane flies beautifully.  It hand launches and flies at slightly more than half throttle.  Nice design.

Rusty:
Chellie let me fly her Mavrick Mk 2 this morning - what a plane!
It was 24 deg. and 25 MPH wind and we had a great time.
Can't believe how your plane handles the wind.
I am ordering TWO planes right now!

I like your planes… I think they are a little short in length though….
So I got a Mavrick, flew it awhile, fun!, then added 3 inches to the fusy… flew better,
( I’m NOT a engineer, just a hobbist) it was so stable inverted I, then added a EXTRA landing gear on TOP of the fusy,
started landing regular and inverted…. A KICK!.....
reason I’m sending this e-mail is there is nothing on the market for that kind of fun,…
you might consider designing and laser cutting one, might be a nice market for it….
I’ll buy a couple…..also took your design blew it to 55” wingspan,( a little longer fusy) flys fantastic…….
Thanks….Jay

Hello Just a little feedback.
The Maverick Mk2 I purchased previously had a problem with the clear tape hinges, they would come loose in various places while I was assembling it. I have ordered another Maverick, but this time I selected the foam parts only as I will use my own tape for the hinges.
On another subject, I believe you would increase your sales if you would offer a twin pack that would save on shipping.

This Has been a really great setup... I absolutely love it... I've purchased a few for fellow fly'ers, and everyone loves it... Like chellie, I love the fact that the ailerons and elevator come pre-hinged... just makes everything go togeather super easy... Keep up the good work ps, Here's a video from one I gave to a fellow flyer this was his first time flying it....

Thought I would send you an email about how I like the plane. I built it stock (with some exceptions). I used Dubro pushrod guides, added a skid on the bottom out of basswood, and I added a 50% KF airfoil on the top with a rounded leading edge. I built it with no thrust and it flies great which I attribute to the K-F airfoil. It hovers and maneuvers in a range of 3D moves. And, it can still cruise at very slow speeds and can land on a dime (KF airfoil again). Battery: 1300 3S 15 or 20 C ABF or Zippy Motor: 2409-18 Towerpro Prop: APC 10x3.8 SF and triple o-rings on the prop saver. Servos: HXT 900 9 gram Thanks for a great plane. The nitro guys really like it have been buying up similar models after I let them fly it. Bill Slabey

Wow! This is the most fun, economical 4 channel plane ever. I can run wot 3s lipo 1450kv brushless with a 8x6 prop and no wing flutter! This has caught the eye of quite a few nito pilots and I say "25 bucks!" Hee hee hee. Think you will be selling more!
Thanks, Rob

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MAVRICK BI PLANE New complete kit/ARF Hi Everyone I sure had a lot of fun building and flying this Bi Plane, One word seems to Sum it up about this Bi Plane ( SWEET ) I liked the way the plane comes out of the box, its Already finished in a very nice design and colors, I really liked the fact that the carbon rods come pre installed, and that the elevator and the ailerons are pre hinged, every thing went together Smooth, and the large control surfaces work very well, This bi Plane made me look good, as it flys very steady, and is very responsive to the controls, I used a KMS-KMB 31-09 Brushless outrunner motor from hobby People, but a Towerpro 2410-09 will work just as well, a 1200 to 1350mah 11.1v lipo seems to be a nice size lipo and weight for this plane, and a 11x4.7 prop will give it vertical performance, The large flat area on the fuselage and the big flat area on the wing braces, allows this Bi Plane to knife edge almost forever, This bi plane needs some down thrust to it, about 3 degrees seems to be about right, as it wanted to climb with throttle added, the down thrust cured that, and about 1 degree of right thrust is needed, to counter the big prop wanting to pull it left, 30 min epoxy seems to work very well is glueing it up, Soooo, my opinion on this Bi Plane is, a BIG THUMBS UP, its easy to build and fly, I really like it, and its a crowd pleaser Take care Everyone, and Soft landing to you, Chellie

The Maverick and Maaverick II are great Planes. I purchased 4 kits early spring 2006,We were Novice Flyers, My son and I both are both now solo Flyers. We tried the RTF's and the big Gas trainers, with a mentor @ the flying feild. Not enough fly time to learn. The Maverick is a great slow flyer with excellent stunt capabilities. We were able to fly more often at slow speeds and get our flying instincts tuned to the point where we now do 3D stunts and mentor our friends. I have exausted my bundle of dow blue foam and ready to try some of your othe kits. Great Job on the design of the plane. James G Raupp
